Vaishali Special
Cover
On 19th April 2016 during Vaishali
Mahotsava, Bihar Circle of India Post released a Special Cover featuring Archaeological
Site – ‘Garh of Raja Vishal’. Vaishali derives its name from King Vishal of
Mahabharata period.
The cancellation on this Special Cover shows
the Ashokan pillar capital of ancient Kutagarasala Vihar (present days
‘Kolhua’). It
is one of the best-preserved of the Pillars of Ashoka, topped by single Asiatic
lion.
